Custom design produces practical enclosures

A Norse Precision Castings product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 4, 2005

Bee Robotics produces robotic liquid handling equipment for DNA matching of recipients and donors in potential transplants, and has strict requirements for its enclosures.

Bee Robotics is a modern dynamic UK company leading the way in robotic liquid handling equipment for DNA matching of recipients and donors in potential transplants.

Each of the four instruments require enclosures of various sizes, and shape, with due consideration to individual ergonomics.

Rigid polyurethane from Norse Precision Castings met all their requirements on the Autocam 48 which accommodates 48 samples in typical run times of around 2.5h.

In the modern laboratory, performance is critical, style and looking right is important.

Norse Precision worked closely with the Bee Robotics in the design to provide enclosures which are easy-clean, practical, durable and elegant.

Rigid polyurethane, moulded at room temperature in inexpensive moulds enables the economical production of quite large enclosures in small to medium size batches.

Bee Robotics, in addition to building an enviable reputation in this specialist medical sector has gone on to be awarded for success in the field of innovation and creativity.
