Norse Precision Castings recently sourced 3D models built up from powder deposition, structured from electronically generated models.

Norse Precision Castings used a novel fastening system on part of Gulmay Medical's Xstrahl 100 X-ray therapy equipment It uses magnets embedded into the cold poured rigid polyurethane to hold two parts of the enclosure, the second part incorporating a steel ring

The parts require separation every three months for maintenance and a smooth joint was advantageous for operational detail and aesthetics.

The metal is sand cast aluminium, while the plastic rigid polyurethane is cold poured, preserving the characteristics of embedded components.

Norse Precision Castings recently sourced 3D models built up from powder deposition, structured from electronically generated models.

When strengthened with an epoxy coating these can be used in either the sand casting or rigid polyurethane moulding with the real advantage of high accuracy prototypes and very short lead times.
