New torque multipliers increase torque
available

Norbar Torque Tools Ltd introduces two new torque multipliers to its already extensive range, increasing the torque available with a 1" output shaft to 4500Nm.

Norbar Torque Tools Ltd introduces two new torque multipliers to its already extensive range, increasing the torque available with a 1" output shaft to 4500Nm The HT45 for manual operation and the PT4500 for pneumatic power are both are stronger, lighter, more compact and accurate than others on the market today

Norbar torque multipliers are a major aid to safety by reducing the need for long levers.

Torque is also applied most accurately when it is applied smoothly and slowly and multipliers allow this by removing much of the physical effort from the tightening task.

Both Norbar models come complete with an angle gauge, allowing operators to easily monitor the bending torque and angle.

A new aluminium ratchet reduces weight and bearings at both ends allow the 50% increase in torque from an extremely small body.

All gears rotate on needle bearings about hardened and ground journal pins.

As a result, Norbar torque multipliers can be relied upon to have a torque multiplication accuracy of ± 4%, throughout the operating range, taking the uncertainty out of high torque tightening.

Another major benefit is that the hand and power drive modules are directly interchangeable, so it is possible to use pneumatic power in the factory but take a hand unit for use on site.

There is an extensive range of extensions to allow access to difficult areas and torque transducers for accurate electrical readouts.

The HT45 and PT4500 join the existing Norbar family of torque multipliers that is now the most comprehensive in the world.

With developments already in hand for ultrasonic stress measurement, including the recently introduced Norbar USM-1 electronic stress meter, it will not be long before Norbar will be able to introduce powered wrenches that cut off on stress rather then torque.
