Industrial torque wrench handles any conditions!

The Norbar Industrial Wrench has the ability to provide accurate torque measurement in the most arduous of operating conditions without the need for elaborate maintenance or constant recalibration

Believe it or not, a standard Norbar Industrial Series torque wrench can be used under water.

The wrench has not been specifically designed or modified for such extreme use, but the fact that water companies can use it in such demanding conditions clearly demonstrates its robustness and ease of maintenance.

As its name implies, the Industrial wrench is widely used for applying accurate torque to threaded fasteners in all types of industrial applications - wet or dry.

It is also used frequently in commercial vehicle wheel applications, where its strength and accuracy make it a firm favourite.

The Industrial wrench's ability to provide accurate torque measurement in the most arduous of operating conditions without the need for elaborate maintenance or constant recalibration is due to two outstanding features.

First, it does not have the usual 'click' action to signal when the set torque is reached.

Instead it has a 'break-back' action that can be easily felt as well as seen when the torque setting is correct, enabling it to be used with confidence even under water.

This action also means the user can continue turning the handle of the wrench through a wide angle without increasing the torque at the fastener, greatly reducing the risk of the bolt or fastener being accidentally over-torqued.

Second, the Norbar Industrial wrench has an exposed mechanism that allows water to easily drain away.

It is a simple job to relubricate it after immersion or use in heavy rain, and it does not require recalibrating.

The robust construction enables the Industrial wrench to consistently produce an accuracy of ń4% in even the most arduous conditions.

Every Industrial wrench is supplied with a calibration certificate issued by Norbar's own UKAS accredited laboratory to satisfy the requirements of an ISO 9000 quality assurance system.

There are five models in the Industrial range of ratchet adjustable wrenches covering torque settings from 100 to 1500 Nm (70 to 1000 lbft).

Each has a dual Nm and lbft scale and comes with the option of 3/4 inch or 1 inch square drive.

There are also four models of production wrench with no setting scale that must be used with a separate torque measuring instrument.

The Norbar Industrial range can trace its roots back to the original torque wrenches produced by Norbar in Banbury 60 years ago.

Its unique features mean that it is one of the best-selling Norbar products and is expected to remain so well into this century.
