Norbar Torque Tools is stepping up its export sales drive with the expansion of its network of offices serving key overseas markets.

Norbar, recently voted International Business of the Year in the Banbury Business Awards, has seen the percentage of its output sold abroad steadily increase over the past 40 years to now stand at 67%.

It has actively developed new markets for its products in South America and South East Asia, and for the past four years all its sales literature has been produced in four languages.

It has recently established offices in Auckland, New Zealand and Jakarta, Indonesia to serve the fast-growing "tiger" economies around the Pacific Rim.

"Despite the difficult circumstances, there are huge opportunities in Indonesia and the rest of South-East Asia", says Norbar Sales Director Philip Brodey.

"We can now provide an excellent service to the whole of that area, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, from our Jakarta operation".

Norbar exhibited at the Manufacturing Indonesia exhibition in October last year, and Brodey was so impressed that Norbar returned to Indonesia in November to take part in a mining exhibition and again in January for an oil and gas exhibition.

"I can testify from personal experience to the business opportunities and warm welcome for British companies in this exciting part of the world", he says.

New Zealand has traditionally been covered by a long established distributor, and this arrangement will continue with the support of a Norbar engineer based in Auckland.

Norbar has also joined forces with its main distributor in the USA, EJ Daiber, and as a result the new joint venture has changed its name to Norbar Torque Tools Based in Cleveland, Ohio, the company is the sole importer of Norbar brand tools to the USA and will work closely with Norbar's calibration laboratory in California.

Norbar now has nine offices around the world, and confidently expects its export sales to continue their upward trend.
