Easy ultrasonic measurement provides load details
The USM-3 can provide a 0-10V analogue output to precisely shut off torque tools when a predetermined bolt stretch or load has been attained.
Torque multiplier works deep under the sea
The gear unit has been designed as an adapter for torque tools used on subsea Christmas trees - the assemblies of control valves, gauges and chokes that control oil and gas flow at a well head.
The Pneutorque is a robust, air-driven torque tool that is ideal for applications where accuracy of applied torque, speed and operator comfort are crucial.
The smooth and continuous operation of the Pneutorque results in low sound and vibration levels bringing important health and safety benefits.
All Norbar Pneutorque tools are powerful and accurate.
The PT52 is available in two torque capacities - either 1000Nm with a maximum speed of 125rev/min, or 600Nm with a maximum speed of 200rev/min.
There are two torque control methods - stall and electronic shutoff.
The stall tool is the basic version and torque control is achieved by adjustment of the inlet air pressure.
An air pressure versus torque graph unique to each tool allows specific torque values to be set.
The electronic shutoff version includes a torque transducer, torque display and internal solenoid valve.
The desired torque tolerance band is set on the tool and once the lower limit is achieved, the valve cuts the air supply.
The actual torque delivered to the joint is displayed on the tool along with pass/fail indication light.
The exceptionally compact 52mm diameter gearbox provides excellent access to bolts and improves tool balance.
Weighing just 3.8kg for a single direction stall tool and 4.0kg for a bidirectional version, it is light and comfortable to use.
Apart from weight reduction, the design paid much attention to ergonomic factors such as handle angle and trigger reach.
Norbar has already experienced strong sales for the PT52 with applications including: valve and pipe work maintenance in replacement of 0.75in drive impact wrenches, assembly of off-road machinery and truck and bus wheel bolting.
Wheel bolting is a particularly interesting area because the traditional method has involved using an impact wrench to run down the nut at high speed followed by a torque wrench for accurate tightening.
The PT52 gives the option of a single tool with both speed and accuracy while having low vibration and noise levels. Request a free brochure from Norbar Torque Tools ...
