Singapore lab offers calibration for SE Asia

A Norbar Torque Tools product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 1, 2004

With the opening of its new torque calibration laboratory in Singapore, Norbar became the only manufacturer of torque measurement equipment with laboratories on four continents.

On 5th November, in the presence of international customers and representatives from the British and Australian High Commissions, Norbar proudly opened its new torque calibration laboratory in Singapore.

Norbar Torque Tools is the only manufacturer of torque measurement equipment with laboratories on four continents that can calibrate its customers' instruments to the same high standards it uses in its own factories.

The company now has facilities in the UK, Australia, the US and Singapore.

All four sites work to ISO/IEC17025:2000, which covers testing and calibration laboratories, so torque equipment customers can be sure that they will receive the same high quality service from accredited facilities around the world.

The UK laboratory, at Banbury in Oxfordshire, is UKAS accredited and offers a calibration service for all brands of torque wrench, torque multiplier and torque testing device rated up to 6800Nm.

In addition to the UKAS accredited services, traceable calibrations up to 100,000Nm are offered.

The Adelaide laboratory, accredited by Australia's NATA, and the US site at Willoughby, Ohio, accredited by NVLAP, have the same calibration scope up to 6800Nm.

Norbar expects third party accreditation by SINGLAS for the Singapore operation early next year.

The new laboratory is at the forefront of Norbar's strategy of expanding sales in South East Asia through providing the best possible service.

In addition to the calibration facilities, extensive stock is being held and tool repair facilities will be provided.

Managing Director of the Singapore operation, Leigh Packer, stated: "Our investment in these first rate facilities demonstrates our commitment to our distributors and customers in South East Asia".
