The F310 load cell measures axial force and torque about the same axis.

The F310 load cell measures axial force and torque about the same axis.

The current design measures 50N axial combined with 2Nm torque, with a worst-case crosstalk uncertainty of less than 0.5%.

The F310 was originally developed to replace a far less accurate system in a texture analysis machine, which employed two separate single axis load cells with a mechanical linkage.

This proved to be very expensive and had other mechanical problems.

Texture analysis can be used in a very wide variety of testing applications including foods (the crunchiness of biscuits or the thickness of custard), pharmaceutical (for pills and potions), cosmetics (lipsticks, powder and paint).

Novatech is currently looking for a new OEM user of this special purpose load cell.
