Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 10, 2008

The motherboard contains an Intel Pentium processor with a clock rate of 933MHz, as well as an Intel 815E set of chips.

The C12 industrial PC from noax is a 12in IPC with a modern ergonomic enclosure design, higher processing performance and improved onboard and expansion possibilities.

In addition, the new Noax single board computer meets the complete RoHS guidelines, which took effect on the 7th January 2006 in the EU market.

The noax Compact series resists vibration, shock, humidity, water, oil and dust.

The aluminium enclosure was developed with an emphasis was on low weight, compact dimensions, ruggedness, high IP protection, as well as various mounting possibilities and equalised climate management.

The system also uses an ergonomic film keyboard.

The fully customised N7-B motherboard developed by noax combines reliability and high performance, as well as a versatile selection of onboard interfaces and various expansion possibilities.

A double-sided, printed-board motherboard provides high packing density, with dimensions of only 135 x 180 x 35mm.

The N7-B contains an Intel Pentium processor with a clock rate of 933MHz, as well as an Intel 815E set of chips.

The noax board's internal memory can be expanded to 512Mbyte with PC133 modules.

The integrated Intel extreme graphic controller with 3D and DVD support is also a standard production feature.

The 2.5in industrial hard disks are connected by an ATA100 interface.

A touch panel controller and a micro controller unit are included.

PC card slots and digital I/O can quickly and easily be upgraded.

Compact Flash cards can be placed directly on the board, offering another storage solution.

Because of numerous mounting options, such as wall or equipment supports, the single board computer is the suitable unit for direct use in production applications, such as BDE, MDE, PZE, process visualisations and image processing.

In addition, the computer can also be installed on vibration-intensive production carriers and vehicles with the help of special shock absorber plates and flash drives.

As standard production, the C12 is available with resistive analogue touch panels and bright TFT displays with a resolution of 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 (SVGA/XGA) and 350cd/m2.

The unit is also because of its compact and rugged construction in a completely sealed enclosure, which makes the noax single board computer IP65 waterproof and dustproof.

The noax microcomputer operates numerous monitoring and control functions, including as ventilator speed, temperature monitoring and background illumination control.
