PowerNURBS is like combing a high-end surface modeller and a high-end solids modeller with the superior animation and rendering of Autodesk 3ds max.
PowerNURBS was shown for the first time publicly at this year's International Siggraph 2005 exhibition in Los Angeles.
PowerNURBS is a hybrid modelling platform - based on Integrityware's Solids ++ kernel - that brings the highest orders of surfacing, analysis and tessellation technologies to users of the widely popular Autodesk 3ds max and Viz 3d visualisation solutions.
PowerNURBS provides advanced solids modelling tools like Booleans, shelling and variable radius filleting that are normally found only in high end CAD systems; it also provides advanced surface modelling tools like high continuity blending, multi-rail sweeps, and high continuity class-A surfaces normally available only in expensive surface modelling products.
Key functionality designed to improve design workflow includes a superior hybrid modelling paradigm that increases flexibility for building the most complex concepts; surfacing algorithms that meet the exacting standards of the automotive and aerospace industries; Intelligent Objects that retain their parameters and update automatically through design revisions, and advanced tangency controls designed to allow users to have interactive feedback and greater control over surface properties.
PowerNURBS also enables designers from all markets to create solid objects that can be quickly turned into physical objects using modern prototyping techniques; now every artist can afford to bring their own creations to life using one complete design toolset.
