Solids and surfaces come together in 3D

A nPower Software product story

Version 2.0 of Power NURBS simplifies the construction of complex geometry typical of the automotive, aerospace, medical, entertainment and organic modelling industries.

nPower Software has announced the 2.0 release of its popular Power NURBS product (with support for 3ds Max 9, including 64bit support).

Power NURBS hybrid solids/surface modeller is revolutionising 3D design with the ability to combine both types of models in a seamless, integrated fashion.

Power NURBS' hybrid design flexibility makes it uniquely applicable to a broad range of markets.

Power NURBS 1.0 achieved great success in the industrial design, mechanical, electronic and architectural industries.

Version 2.0 simplifies the construction of complex geometry typical of the automotive, aerospace, medical, entertainment and organic modelling industries.

Design revisions are an important part of the design process, and Power NURBS 2.0 helps optimise the revision process by intelligently maintaining the surface connectivity network during editing operations.

Editing a curve or surface will update the associated curves and surfaces automatically.

Power NURBS change propagation eliminates the typically cumbersome task of recreating geometry.

Building construction curves is now even easier and more powerful, as Power NURBS 2.0 includes new 2D Booleans, sketch constraints (tangent, perpendicular), curve blending and other new tools for sketching curves and manipulating those curves.

New surface grid construction tools allow the user to easily construct curves or snap right onto a surface.

And the intelligent curve networks maintain their constraints when editing individual curves within the curve network.

Power NURBS 2.0 extends its powerful surface modelling tools with new intelligent design tools.

It now supports array copy or patterns of features, projected trimming with smart trimming options, dynamic trimming cut back, advanced surface features, surface draping and re-approximation, surface offset and a new bevel tool for applying cross section shapes to beveled edges.

Medical designers are raving about a new tubing tool, which supports the creation of organic tubing networks (like blood vessels).

Power NURBS is designed for artist/designer instead of the CAD professional.

Version 2.0 of Power NURBS makes it even easier to create complex designs by simplifying the user interface.

Power NURBS now includes innovative deformable, parametric primitives, which allow the user to model like an artist models with clay.

The 2.0 version makes many commonly used options and commands readily available through context sensitive menus.

And many of the help files now include illustrative examples of various options.

Power NURBS 2.0 extends its powerful blending tools with new support for asymmetric blends, step back blending, and 3 and 4 sided blending.

With version 2.0, the user has greater control over how the blend is shaped between the surfaces.

Power NURBS superior hybrid modelling system - based on IntegrityWare's Solids ++ Kernel - brings the highest order of surfacing, solids modelling, analysis, and tessellation technologies to the popular Autodesk 3ds max and Viz 3D design products.

Power NURBS provides advanced solids modelling tools like Booleans, shelling and variable radius filleting that are normally found only in high end CAD systems; it also provides advanced surface modelling tools like high continuity blending, multi-rail sweeps, and high continuity class-A surfaces which meet the exacting standards of the automotive and aerospace industries.

Intelligent Power NURBS Objects retain their parameters and update automatically through design revisions.

And unique advanced tangency controls allow users to have interactive feedback and greater control over surface properties.

Power NURBS also enables designers from all markets to create solid objects that can be quickly turned into accurate physical objects using modern prototyping techniques (like stereo lithography).

According to Gary Crocker, President of IntegrityWare: "Our goal for release 2.0 of Power NURBS was to provide a surface modelling tool that has would enable the construction of complex automotive and aerospace designs that are easily modified throughout the entire design process".

"Power NURBS 2.0 gives our customers the ability to perfect their design through interactive modifications on an existing model as opposed to the traditional cumbersome process of reconstructing the model each time a change is necessary".

Power NURBS 2.0 sells for $995, and can be purchased from the nPower web store or through certified nPower Software resellers throughout the world.
