Solenoids change the face of stock
control

Solenoids produced by leading British manufacturer NSF Controls are at the core of a revolution in industrial vending equipment and stock control systems.

Solenoids produced by leading British manufacturer, NSF Controls, are at the core of a revolution in industrial vending equipment and stock control systems NSF Controls' solenoids are supplied for the all-important locking mechanisms for computer-controlled stock-holding and releasing cabinets, used by such major companies as British Aerospace, Rolls-Royce aero engines, Airbus Industries, General Motors, Glaxo-Wellcome (GSK) and Mercedes-Benz

Increasingly, these advanced automated stock control systems are used in technical workshops for high-value stock items such as regrindable carbide-tipped drill bits and other components.

Compartmented storage drawers are opened by operators using security-coded swipe cards and on-screen menus.

As items of stock are removed, the system can restock automatically by sending a text message or e-mail from the inventory computer direct to the supplier, and all stages of the inventory are monitored for maximum stock-holding efficiency and parts "traceability".

NSF Controls' principal customer in this field is UK-based Supply Point Systems, which supplies stock control equipment industrial vending systems to more than 20 countries and also has a manufacturing plant in the USA.

Supply Point Systems Managing Director, Geoff Herrington, said: "This type of machine is the physical equivalent embodiment of e-commerce and the our business is growing at a phenomenal rate".

"There are many further potential applications, for us especially in the manufacturing and maintenance fields".

"The NSF solenoids are core to what we do and have been very important to our success in recent years".

"We are now developing a new electronic door lock mechanism for our systems which will use the same solenoids".

Supply Point Systems' success in this rapidly growing market and its advanced technical innovations have now been formally recognised with the achievement of the 2004 Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category. Request a free brochure from NSF Controls ...
