NSK's new global catalogue is billed as a comprehensive specification and selection guide to some of the highest performing super precision bearings available.

Both the catalogue layout and content have been specifically designed to help spindle designers, machine rebuilders and bearing distributors select the best type of bearings for their applications.

The new catalogue has twice the number of pages of previous NSK precision bearing catalogues, over 80% of its content being revised with the latest up-to-date precision bearing technology.

The number of product types available has also been increased significantly with a third of the categories being dedicated to "high performance" products such as NSK's new "Robust" series.

Detailed information on the high-speed Robust series bearings, together with data on conventional angular contact bearings, thrust bearings, roller bearings, ball screw support and deep groove ball bearings is contained within a very comprehensive product table section.

This benefits users by providing an "at-a-glance" explanation of the advantages of each product type in terms of performance and high speed.

Complementing the "at-a-glance" facility is an extremely useful section that describes, in detail with the aid of a flowchart, the bearing selection process.

The catalogue also expands on this information with an important new inclusion, a logically laid out section - supplemented with copious diagrams and photographs - on how to assemble a machine tool bearing.

This looks in some detail into the area of assembling tapered bore roller bearings using both specialised equipment and alternative methods of fitment.

Also included to help the bearing user is a section dealing with complementary bearing products such as gauges, which ensure accurate bearing assembly onto shafts, and a series of oil-air lubricators that facilitate premium-bearing speeds.
