Load limiters know the ropes

Nova Electrical has been appointed as the UK distributor for a range of load limiters, which are available as either electronic or mechanical devices.

Nova Electrical has been appointed as the UK distributor for a range of load limiters, which are available as either electronic or mechanical devices.

The electronic version comprises a load cell and control unit for forces up to 10,000kg in a single rope of 45mm maximum diameter.

The mechanical unit handles forces up to 6000kg in a single rope of maximum diameter from 6 to16mm, and is very economical and easy to fit.

The units are attached near the rope anchor point (dead end) making it very ideal for installing on new or existing cranes or hoists etc.

These load limiters are designed to avoid accidents and breakdowns due to overloads on overhead electric travelling cranes, winches, hoists, lifting equipment and any other industrial applications where tension in wire rope needs to be carefully and continuously monitored.
