Award for Newall apprentice
Newall Measurement Systems Apprentice Technical Engineer Christopher Wormall has won a Rudolf Carne Award for his outstanding contribution to the machine tool industry.

Wormall, who joined Newall Measurement Systems four years ago, submitted a report detailing his involvement in an engineering project at the company's Leicester site.
Sarah Henderson, MTTA Education and Training Manager, said: "The overall standard of entries for the award was extremely high.
Christopher's application in particular demonstrated his commitment to the industry with an enthusiasm that deserved recognition".
Wormall collected his award and a cash prize at the NEC in Birmingham during a ceremony at MACH 2002, the premier international exhibition of machine tools and manufacturing technology.
"It was very exciting if a little nerve wracking", said Wormall.
"Not only were the company's directors there to congratulate me but my family also attended to wish me well".
Newall Measurement Systems is dedicated to raising industry standards by developing new talent and has been recruiting gifted students from engineering colleges in the Leicester area to this end for over 15 years.
Mark Hudman, Technical Director at Newall Measurement Systems, who put Wormall forward for the award commented, "The award is a testimony to both Christopher's hard work and the effectiveness of Newall's apprentice programme".
