Digital readouts offer more
functionality

Newall Measurement Systems has launched a new range of digital readout units featuring segmented error compensation, an easy-to-install modular design and a five-year warranty.

Newall Measurement Systems has launched a new range of digital readout units featuring segmented error compensation, an easy-to-install modular design and a five-year warranty The new E-Series has been developed from the innovative DP8 display unit, which set the industry standard in digital display functionality and robustness

The new E-Series incorporates multilingual message screens and a single keystroke entry system, making it flexible and easy to use.

Like its predecessor, the E-Series is suitable for a number of industrial environments - including milling and lathe applications - and provides the operator with extraordinary levels of control via a number of unique functions.

These include a programmable memory, line-hole, polar and taper controls, and the ability to link the unit to outside relays, which can activate other machine functions.

However, unlike the DP8, the new E-Series offers the possibility of increased system accuracy associated with its segmented error compensation function, which is especially relevant to machines which have suffered from excessive wear.

The additional control, precision and operating confidence derived from the 99 controllable segments per axis, means the new E-Series is ideal for OEMs, retrofitters and end users.

Bob Massam, Sales and Marketing Director at Newall, explained that during the development process, the aim was to produce not only a full feature readout, but also a product that was easy to install and use.

"The new E-Series includes a separate power supply unit making installation far easier.

More importantly, the E-Series has the flexibility of the DP8 with additional control of segmented error compensation.

This makes it ideal for both new machines and those that have been on the shop floor for years".

Also benefiting from internal summing, vectoring and taper measurement, the E-Series has memory backup, a zero reset and is operable in temperatures of 0 to 45C.

Moreover, the display units can take advantage of Newall's Spherosyn and Microsyn linear encoders, which are impervious to virtually all workshop contaminants. Request a free brochure from Newall Measurement Systems ...
