Digital encoder developments demonstrated
Newall will be showcasing its comprehensive range of digital encoders and DROs at Drives and Controls 2002, including several major new developments in linear encoder and readout technology.
Housed in an attractive, rugged die-cast enclosure with a wipe-clean, tactile control panel, the A50 provides outstanding position monitoring possibilities.
Featuring scale factoring, linear and segmented error compensation, axis resolution, diagnostic signal detection, standard inch/metric and reference functions, the A50 is available in panel-mounted and standard enclosure versions, with an optional external mains AC adapter.
Measuring just 144mm in width and 70mm in depth, the A50 is ideally suited for applications where space is at a premium and accurate monitoring is a must.
Suitable for use with Newall's Microsyn or Spherosyn linear encoders, the A50 has a measurement resolution of 50 to 1um, can operate in temperatures up to 45C and provides the operator with enhanced control via its easy-to-use keypad.
Unsurprisingly, a number of industrial operations will benefit from this innovative digital readout including, for example, height and depth gauges and single-axis measurement in grinders, saws and guillotines.
The tough casing and five-year warranty also makes it ideal for abrasive environments where excessive wear could damage traditional analogue readouts.
"The A50 combines cost efficiency and accurate monitoring with a small footprint area and multiple functionality", Bob Massam, Sales and Marketing Director at Newall, explained.
"This unique combination offers operators in the machinery and metrology markets greater tool efficiency and productivity through heightened control". Request a free brochure from Newall Measurement Systems ...
