Digital encoder developments demonstrated
Newall will be showcasing its comprehensive range of digital encoders and DROs at Drives and Controls 2002, including several major new developments in linear encoder and readout technology.
To date, specifying encoders has generally been a complex and often time consuming task as engineers have had separately to order each encoder, together with all ancillary components such as fixing brackets and mounting bars, and then align and co-ordinate the system after installation.
Now, for all new Newall Measurement Systems encoders, engineers will be able simply to purchase a compete unit, ready configured and supplied with all necessary fixing mounting brackets, end plates, washers and screws.
Bob Massam, Sales and Marketing Director for Newall Measurement Systems, explains: "We believe we're the first major supplier of encoders to offer this type of service and have worked closely with both OEMs and end users to develop the best combination of components for each fixing kit.
In addition, and unlike many of our competitors, we also give customers Internet access to our engineering drawings, so that even if a custom fitting is required it can easily be fabricated on-site.
We anticipate that the new fittings kits will reduce installation and setup times by up to 50%.
Perhaps as importantly, it will mean that installation can be carried out by relatively inexperienced engineers, as each fittings kit is checked and the encoder configured before despatch, making on-site installation quick and simple".
Newall Measurement Systems' encoders are based on a unique design in which all the electronics and measuring components are completely sealed against oil, dust, coolant and other workshop contaminants.
An IP67 rating guarantees users exceptional levels of reliability and performance, which increases further over the 5 years of the system warranty. Request a free brochure from Newall Measurement Systems ...
