UK debut for absolute scale encoders
Newall Measurement Systems will be using the MACH 2004 exhibition to preview its new absolute scale encoders.

Absolute encoders from Newall are accurate, wear free and require no maintenance.
Combining inductive technology and Hall effect sensors, the linear encoders are available currently up to 3.7m but will be available during late 2004 in maximum travel lengths of 9.25m without repeat.
At the heart of each system is an onboard digital signal processor (DSP): this allows flexibility in transmission output to match a variety of industry protocols, and can be read by a PC without an interface card.
To accompany the Absolute encoders and the industry standard Spherosyn and Microsyn encoders, Newall will also be exhibiting its entire range of digital read out systems.
These are designed to help manufacturers make significant increases in productivity and machine tool efficiency in a wide range of applications.
The A50 digital readout system is a simple to use, single axis DRO that can be used in a wide range of linear measurement applications.
Ideal for the machine and metrology sectors, the A50 provides outstanding position monitoring and features scale factoring, linear and segmented error compensation, axis resolution, diagnostic signal detection, standard inch/metric and reference functions.
Furthermore, the A50 measures just 144 x 70mm, making it ideal for applications where space is at a premium or for integrating into a control unit.
In common with the entire range of Newall DRO systems, the A50 can be combined with Microsyn or Spherosyn linear encoders for an integrated complete machine solution.
Newall's C70 and C80 digital readout systems have been developed to set a new standard in terms of performance, value and ease of use for the OEM and retrofit markets.
The C Series is easily configurable for use with encoders on mills, borers, grinders and lathes, and can be reconfigured for use elsewhere at a later date thus avoiding the expenses associated with replacement units.
In particular, the C80 features unique infield PC programming via the Internet as well as feed rate and segmented error compensation, offering users even higher levels of control.
The E Series range of DRO displays have been developed to minimise encoder cable routing, and feature segmented error compensation and an easy to install modular construction.
In addition, the E Series incorporates multilingual message screens and a single keystroke entry system, making it flexible and easy to use.
The E Series can be used in a wide range of industrial applications such as mills and lathes, and provide operators with extremely high levels of control via a number of unique functions.
Also on the stand will be Newall's Spherosyn and Microsyn linear encoders, which have been specially designed to meet the harsh demands of machine shop environments.
