The NYCe system from Nyquist Industrial Control is not just suitable for advanced high-tech control, but it can also be used for controlling CNC applications.
The Asian Pacific region, and especially China, offers Nyquist considerable potential for growth.
Peter Wong is the manager of Nyquist Asia.
According to Wong, Singapore provides Nyquist with an excellent location for expanding its market share in the Asian OEM machine building market: "Especially in China there is an enormous growth potential because of the developing economy.
Think of machine builders in the semiconductor back end industry, special robotics and particularly the areas of trim and form, laser marking, die and wire bonding.
Machine builders here in Asia want small, modular standard systems with an easy to use interface.
Our open PC-based motion control systems, which can control up to 64 axes synchronously, meet the needs of the market completely".
Another reason why Nyquist believes it will be successful in Asia, is, according to Nyquist CEO Eric Hezemans, the great willingness to contract out in that continent.
"In Asia a lot of machine builders do not have a research and development department.
As they do not want to re-invent the wheel every time, they contract out the development to specialists with whom they can co-operate".
Nyquist chose Singapore as its place of business in Asia because of its location and culture.
"Singapore is the gateway to the rest of Asia in our area of business", says Hezemans.
"It is a country that knows the languages and cultures of other Asian countries but at the same time has a western outlook.
Many people from Europe, China and Malaysia also live and work in Singapore".
