ODU has added a fluid insert to its Medi-Snap connector range, which has been specially developed for the medical equipment market.

ODU has added a fluid insert to its Medi-Snap connector range, which has been specially developed for the medical equipment market.

This range is mounting and mating compatible with other manufacturers' products.

The new component has six colour coding options and will accept tubing of 5.3 to 6.5mm diameter.

It will work at a maximum pressure of 2bar and is protected to IP50 when mated.

An important feature of the Medi-Snap is that it is easy to use, particularly in blind mounting situations that can be encountered with medical equipment in use in emergency situations.

Another significant advantage for medical applications is that the Medi-Snap can be sterilised or autoclaved.

Other features include good chemical resistance, low mating forces, high mating cycle capability and low weight.

The connector is also nonmagnetic.
