Connector specialist ODU has developed special products for many industries, including automotive, medical and defence, but recently added high-tech kitchen appliances to its list Today better connectors are needed for white goods because these products need robust, reliable components

Working with an appliance manufacturer ODU has developed for a food processor an IP67 rated connector with four single contacts that is dishwasher resistant up to 2000 cycles.

Furthermore the component is expected to have a 10-year or 800 hour service life and be capable of withstanding 20,000 mating cycles without signs of wear and tear.

Other specifications of the connector include thermal stability over a range of -30 to +160C, a contact resistance of less than 10mohm and insertion and withdrawal forces of less then 10N.

It is compatible with components from other suppliers and is manufactured from halogen-free materials in accordance with the CDE guidelines for household heating appliances.
