EtherNet/IP seminars and training events aim to meet the demand of the continued growth of new users and vendors of the EtherNet/IP technology.

ODVA is running a series of EtherNet/IP seminars and training events throughout Europe in 2008 to meet the demand of the continued growth of new users and vendors of the EtherNet/IP technology.

Each one-day event will provide considerable technical training on EtherNet/IP and the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) on which it is built.

Coming to five European locations this year is the "EtherNet/IP: proven and complete" informational seminar.

This free, one-day seminar is designed for potential users and vendors of EtherNet/IP products and networks, providing delegates with the technical details and the value to industry of CIP and EtherNet/IP, including its extensions for safety, motion, and Modbus, as well as a primer on the basics of industrial Ethernet.

"With this series of seminars, ODVA has provided users and vendors around the globe with the basic knowledge they need to critically evaluate how EtherNet/IP is the right investment for decades to come", says Katherine Voss, Executive Director of ODVA.

Upcoming dates and locations in Europe include: 24th June in Amsterdam, The Netherlands; 2nd July in Prague, Czech Republic; 16th September in Paris, France; 19th September in Barcelona, Spain; and 24th September in Bologna, Italy.

In addition, ODVA is launching a training course in Europe for new EtherNet/IP developers.

"EtherNet/IP quick start" helps developers accelerate their knowhow to get started with EtherNet/IP product development.

The one-day training covers considerations of product functionality, implementation approaches, product design and testing, plus gives an in-depth review of the EtherNet/IP specification.

The next scheduled "EtherNet/IP Quick Start" will be held on 27th June 2008 in Stuttgart, Germany.

Interested parties are encouraged to register early via the ODVA website as space is limited.
