New enclosed gas-cooled narrow weld heads offer users of the orbital welding process a choice of compact, cost effective and efficient tooling solutions.

New enclosed gas-cooled narrow weld heads offer users of the orbital welding process a choice of compact, cost effective and efficient tooling solutions This is an all-new weld head both in design and construction, and at 41.5mm wide (for the OSK115G Model) it is the narrowest on the market, capable of welding 114.3mm-diameter tube

The novel features overcome the traditional problems associated with gas- cooled weld heads and the high duty cycle performance achieved compares with that of traditional water-cooled designs.

The range comprises three models: the OSK53G for tube diameters from 6.0 to 53.0mm OD; the OSK76G or tube diameters from 6.0 to 76.2mm OD; and the OSK115G for tube diameters from 8.0 to 114.3mm OD.

All three weld heads incorporate flip-top closures and quick-release collets, with no Screws required.

Further OSK25G and OSK38G models will be released shortly, and all will operate from a single OSK-G gas cooled handle assembly.

This exclusive concept available only from Orbitec enables weld heads to be interchanged cassette style quickly and easily.

Additionally, analogue and digital handle options mean the same weld heads can be used on all orbital welding systems irrespective of manufacturer.

The new heads are suitable for use in all fusion applications across industries including pharmaceutical, biotech, semiconductor, aerospace, food, beverage, dairy and breweries etc.
