An Omega Engineering product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 8, 2008

Modular mini PLC provides a "just right" concept for delivering only the features required at an attractive price.

Available now from Omega is the ELC series of DIN-rail-mount mini programmable logic controllers.

With exceptional price and performance levels this modular PLC provides a "just right" concept for delivering only the features required at an attractive price.

The ELC series offers high-speed pulse capture and high-speed pulse output, and is expandable up to 256 I/Os.

Both DeviceNet and Profibus network access are available.

There is a wide range of digital I/O modules, AC/DC input, relay/transistor output, modules for analogue input, output, combined I/O, thermocouple and Pt100 sensors.

There are over 200 instructions to choose from, and each unit comes with two Modbus (ASCII or RTU) serial ports.

A fully functioning PLC with eight digital DC inputs and six relay or transistor outputs costs just GBP 62.

Windows programming software is GBP 66 and a PC cable GBP 10.75, so a complete startup system can be purchased for less than GBP 139.
