According to ancient Roman mythology Janus was the Roman god of doorways and gates - an apt name for the new range of muting barriers made by Reer and distributed in the UK by OEM Automatic Designed to protect human operators from dangerous machinery the integrated muting function allows raw materials or finished product to enter or exit a dangerous area without interrupting the operation of the guarded machine

Three models make up the range in I, L and T shapes, the latter two with built-in sensor arms to reduce installation times and increase reliability in pallet handling applications.

A unique and patented design allows the sensing arms to be adjusted in both height and angle, making the accurate detection of product much easier.

L and T options are available with two or three beams for personnel protection, while the I shape offers two, three and four beam options, plus 30, 40 and 90mm resolutions for upper and lower limb detection.

A junction box for mounting by the guarded aperture contains reset and override controls as well as a muting lamp to warn operators of the barrier status.

Electrical connection is by premoulded jumper cables, giving a true plug and play system with the benefits of quick and simple installation - characteristics not normally associated with such products.

All models are safety level type 4, are third party approved by TUV and are UL and CE marked.
