Valve system cuts down on wiring

An OEM Automatic product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 21, 2007

The principle behind Dual-DIN is simple, two solenoid plugs with separate wiring but linked to a single multi-core main cable can supply a double coil operated valve.

The term "Dual-DIN" may not mean much at the moment, but it does have significance if you are a hydraulics engineer, designer or supplier.

Hydraulic control valves are usually controlled by one or more solenoid coils.

Each of these requires wiring as well as the work associated with the connections and potential fault finding.

Six valves with double-coil operation will result in twelve cables.

Routing this many cables can become a time consuming operation for a hydraulics engineer or a costly process if a sub-contractor is employed.

The principle behind Dual-DIN is simple, two solenoid plugs with separate wiring but linked to a single multi-core main cable can supply a double coil operated valve.

This means six solenoid/solenoid control valves will only need six supply cables thus making the whole installation easier, simpler and less prone to faults.
