Case system intended for fast-locking to DIN rails
Use of RAILTEC allows OEM users to design and enclose their electronic or electrical assemblies and fast-lock them on to DIN-rail
Four sizes of DIN-rail cases from OKW
OKW Enclosures of Fareham has developed a special case system called Railtec specifically intended for the enclosure of electronic assemblies that are to be fast-locked on to DIN-rails.
Not only because of the positioning of two people sitting on the motorcycle, but also because of surrounding noises.
Most modern motorcycle communication systems use a microphone and headset, connected by a cable.
However, this can be impractical, as the cable can easily be torn from its connector, rendering the system ineffectual.
To overcome this problem, Nextel created a small, inexpensive and energy-saving device, which requires no cable connection.
Nextel has used the most recent and up to date system using transmitters and receivers.
Nextel then had to find an enclosure small enough to be inconspicuous, but large enough to house the required components.
OKW's Smart Case M, with its rounded and aerodynamic shape was chosen as it satisfied all requirements.
In addition, the Smart Case M is manufactured from infrared permeable material, and includes battery holders for 2 x AAA batteries, which power the communication system for more than 6 hours.
OKW's range of Smart cases are ergonomically designed, and manufactured from either ABS (UL94HB) or PMMA (IR) for infra-red versions.
The Smart Case M has dimensions of 96x47x24mm.
Protection rating ranges between IP40/41 and IP65, and the Smart cases are available in the standard colours of off-white RAL 2002 and black RAL 9005.
Further colours can be manufactured to customer request.
The top of the Smart cases are recessed for mounting membrane keypads, and accessories include key rings, battery clips, sealing kit, belt clip and wall holders.
OKW also offers a full customising service on these enclosures with milling, silk-screen printing and much more, providing a bespoke solution to electronics designers.
