Videoscope boasts a wider dynamic range

An Olympus Industrial product story

Videoscope systems revolutionise the most important factors of any visual inspection product: image quality, durability, ease-of-use and measurement accuracy.

The new Iplex R Series videoscope systems revolutionise the most important factors of any visual inspection product: image quality, durability, ease-of-use and measurement accuracy.

Image quality and optical precision are synonymous with Olympus.

Once again, advancements in this area have been realised with the introduction of Wide Dynamic Range (WDR).

Users can now see into both dark and bright areas in real time with contrast, colour and detail either preserved or enhanced.

This is especially effective when observing large voids or areas with conflicting brightness and contrast.

WDR is a radical new function of Iplex, operated by a single button, allowing selection of two levels - Boost2 or Boost3.

Behaving like the human eye, WDR is fully adaptive and spatially varying.

This means that the system analyses the entire image and applies an algorithm to each individual pixel.

Images processed in this way are then continually in balance across the entire image.

Stereo Measurement was pioneered by Olympus in 1996 and has continually improved, with enhanced ease of use in subsequent generations.

Super Stereo Measurement in Iplex II-R now features cursor position and matching of the left and right images to a fifth of a pixel.

This results in new levels of measurement precision as the greater the accuracy in cursor positioning: the greater the accuracy of the measurement result.

In addition, new system processing and optical data advancements will mean that near-perfect accuracy can be achieved by user installation, with no need to return the equipment for setup or calibration.

Solid State file storage is now a prerequisite for industrial visual inspection products and new movie recording formats and extended duration are features of the Iplex R Series.

Saving to internal memory storage is also now possible.

As the most compact and lightweight videoscope available, weighing only 4.4kg including batteries, the Iplex MX has also been further enhanced.

A new 4.4mm diameter version has all the features of the larger 6mm model - still image storage, revolutionary LED illumination and internal lithium ion battery with 2.5 hours operation.

As part of Olympus' commitment to the environment and to meet future European legislation, all Iplex products are now RoHs/WEEE compliant.
