System speeds metrology

Even a first-time user of the LEXT OLS3100 system can obtain, fast reliable measurement results.

Olympus has released the LEXT OLS3100 system for 3D laser confocal microscopy-based metrology The LEXT minimises the need for manual operation, improving ease of use

Even a first-time user can obtain, fast reliable measurement results.

The LEXT meets a diverse range of needs in fine surface profile measurement.

The operation navigator provides animations to guide users through each step of microscopic observation, enabling the completion of a series of steps by simply using the mouse in the same way as shown in the animations.

3D image capturing can be performed with just one click of the 3D capture button.

Time consuming tasks, such as setting the upper and lower focal limits are completed automatically.

This means that high-quality 3D images can be produced very quickly by both novice and experienced users.

As a result, workloads are more streamlined and efficient.

The LEXT offers a full range of precision measurement and analysis functions to meet virtually any requirement.

A captured image is rendered in perfect 3D by the LEXT's display capabilities.

Extremely precise measurement, excellent repeatability and advanced analytical techniques for roughness and particle analyses provide the user with a new dimension of microscopic observation.

The 3D handling technology enables step height, line width and the distance between two points to be measured in a 3D image.

Furthermore, users will be presented with a variety of standard and novel 3D image presentation patterns including surface texture, real colour and wired frame.

Another new feature of the LEXT is the 3D image navigation tool.

The mouse can be used to rotate and move the 3D image.

The mouse wheel can also be used to scale the image through 100 different levels without any image deterioration.

The background colour can be changed to improve the observation and contrast of the specimen.

The LEXT integrates an apochromatic objective lens specially developed for confocal laser scanning microscope, with a near-UV (408nm) laser light.

This lens uses optical technology from Olympus to ensure the highest level of observation clarity and measurement accuracy at high magnifications. Request a free brochure from Olympus Life Science Europa ...
