On-site dilution cuts bulk fluid transport costs
A novel packaged dilution system from Tecstream OMG is claimed to show considerable long-term savings on transportation costs for liquid raw materials.
The equipment is designed to provide highly efficient and cost effective installations with minor liquid components metered direct from standard 220 litre supply drums.
Major components can also be supplied direct from bulk storage, eliminating the need for costly intermediate holding tanks, buffers and transfer pumping.
Typical systems are based on mass metering of each liquid component together with controlled mixing to produce highly accurate and repeatable quality of the finished product.
For example a blend of eight liquid components can produce an error as low as 80gms in 100kgs.
A very wide range of fluids can be handled, including aggressive media, slurries and even suspended solids.
Mixing and product transfer are also controlled from a single source with an infinite variety of dosing volumes, mixing sequences and recipe settings being accommodated.
Provision for hazardous area operation can also be made.
The equipment is supplied ready to install and start, with PC or PLC options for recipe database control.
Management data for operator codes, productions times and full data logging of ingredient usage and times are provided, together with built-in alarms to monitor ingredient levels and finished product holdings.
Mixing, heating and media transfer emptying are also controlled and can be password or access protected to maintain maximum process safety and security.
