Omnimotor introduces the Shinano Kenshi Polygon scanner motor range for demanding optical applications.

Omnimotor introduces the Shinano Kenshi Polygon scanner motor range for demanding optical applications.

This novel device is based on a compact, outer rotor, three-phase brushless DC motor - with minimal length of 21mm and integral electronics.

This 24V unit is available in high-torque versions, and high-speed versions up to 35,000 or 45,000rev/min are available with enhanced rotor/load balancing for minimal vibration and audible noise.

The scanner motor also features a high-precision, polygon-shaped mirror unit fitted to the motor shaft and these units are manufactured in very high quantity.

These motors are RoHS-compliant.

This unique motor results from the combination of Shinano's innovative Japanese development capability with its low-cost Chinese manufacturing facility.

Applications for these products include high-speed laser printers, barcode scanners and any other products requiring precise, high-speed scanning capabilities.

The range is available with customised electronic assemblies - including control and drive electronics for easier integration into customer products.
