An inspection equipment exhibition is touring the UK until October, launching Omron's latest inspection ranges as well as showing existing products and complementary automation systems Omron's Paul Borrett explains: "It is difficult to appreciate the full capabilities of modern inspection technology from brochures, so we have carefully designed this specialist exhibition to bring the subject to life

And we have and made it mobile so that we can bring it to potential users." The exhibition features many interactive demonstrations that are not application specific but designed to show the capability of a multitude of inspection devices in a neutral environment.

This serves to highlight the performance of each family of devices without pigeon holing them into specific applications.

Product demonstrations on the vehicle include, proximity sensors, fibre optics, level detection and control, precision measurement, colour recognition, pattern matching, read / write tagging, high speed mark recognition and XY positioning using a machine vision system and motion control card.

There are also areas highlighting Omron's newest inspection equipment, how to use the Omron Touch to Teach set-up system, Know-how knowledge management software.

There is also a large area for on-site application solutions, featuring all Omron's photoelectric sensors and machine vision systems.

Furthermore Omron's total automation solution capability is also being demonstrated.

Every automated demonstration on the vehicle has utilised other Omron equipment to facilitate it's operation, equipment such as PLC's, HMIs, power supplies, drives and other motion control devices as well as software.

The Exhibition Vehicle started its tour in the West County, but Omron are keeping the rest of the itinerary flexible, saying that they will take it to various locations at times requested by potential visitors.

"We realise that most people have busy schedules at work, and to fit in we invite them to contact us and suggest a few dates that would be suitable for them," says Borrett. Request free introductory details about products from Omron Electronics ...

" We should be able to accommodate most requests, thus making sure the maximum number of inspection specialists can get to visit the demonstration.".
