A new range of digital timers has just 12 models to cover virtually every requirement, making it unnecessary for users to stock and specify multiple types and models.

With the new H5CX range of digital timers from Omron Electronics, just 12 models cover virtually every requirement, making it unnecessary for users to stock and specify multiple types and models.

Every timer in the range can be set to give delays from just 1 millisecond to 9,999 hours (well over a year!), and can be configured for a variety of different operations, including, on-delay off-delay, symmetrical and asymmetrical, as well as others.

Versatile H5CX timers incorporate large clear displays, which use backlit negative LCD technology to ensure easy readability in lighting conditions ranging from full sunlight to total darkness.

As a further aid to status monitoring on screw terminal models, the colour of the display can be configured to switch between green and red when the time period is finished.

Operating mode and time range selection are accomplished via DIP switches on the top of the timer for basic applications, or by using a simple menu structure where more comprehensive settings are required.

Time settings are entered via a fully sealed keypad on the timer front panel.

To aid rapid adjustment, the keypad uses rocker keys with an intuitive up/down action.

The combination of high-visibility display and easy setting make Omron's H5CX timers an ideal choice for process control, machine control and similar applications where operators must be able to check timing status instantly, and make rapid adjustments to the timing sequence.

H5CX timers are available for use from 100V to 240V AC supplies, or from 24V AC and 12V to 24V DC supplies.

Either version can be supplied with a relay output, and/or a transistor output which is user-selectable as NPN or PNP.

The timers are offered with screw terminals, or in plug-in versions for use with 11-pin sockets.

Economy 8-pin plug-in models, which omit certain minor features, are also available.
