Flexible functions from counters

A new range of electronic counters provides convenient and cost-effective solutions for an exceptionally wide range of industrial and commercial counting applications.

With five different user-selectable counting functions, dual inputs and either four- or six-digit high visibility displays, H7CX electronic counters from Omron Electronics provide convenient and cost-effective solutions for an exceptionally wide range of industrial and commercial counting applications The new counters allow users to select batch counter, dual counter, preset counter, tachometer or totaliser operation by using DIP switches and a simple menu system

To maximise the versatility of the these innovative products, additional features including, for example, counting speed, count direction and input type, can also be programmed by the user.

H7CX counters are provided with either one or two outputs, depending on the model.

They are available with either transistor or relay outputs, or with both.

All versions incorporate a large backlit negative-transmission LCD readout, which can be programmed to switch between green and red, or vice-versa, when the required setpoint is reached, providing users with fast and positive confirmation of count status.

When operating in batch mode, H7CX counters can simultaneously provide a preset counting function.

This means that only one counter is needed in applications where, for example, it is necessary to count 100 pills into each of 200 bottles.

The dual counter function is equally flexible: the counter output can be set to operate on the basis of the difference or the sum of the two counts, making this operating mode ideal for comparing production rates, or totalling the output from two production lines.

In tachometer mode, Omron's H7CX counters allow easy detection of overspeed and underspeed, with both functions provided by a single counter.

In conjunction with pulse type flow monitors, HC7X counters can also be used in this mode to monitor flow rates.

Omron HC7X counters feature DIN-standard 48 x 48mm cases and have an IP66 environmental protection rating, making them suitable for use in the toughest industrial environments.

Standard units in the range are equipped with finger-protected screw-terminal connections, but Omron also offers economy versions with slightly reduced functionality in both screw-terminal and plug-in versions. Request a free brochure from Omron Electronics ...
