The drive for energy savings
Easily achieved energy savings up to 20% when driving suitable loads, such as fans and pumps, are claimed for the new 3G3PV inverter drive series from Omron Electronics.
Easily achieved energy savings up to 20% when driving suitable loads, such as fans and pumps, are claimed for the new 3G3PV inverter drive series from Omron Electronics Specifically developed to address the needs of the heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), building automation and industrial markets for an economical easy-to-use variable-torque drive, the new inverters offer PID control as standard, and are available with ratings up to 160kW

Distribution boxes simplify field connections
Multiport distribution boxes simplify the applied wiring of sensor actuators, enabling multiple connections in an area with just one connection going back to the controller.
Snap mounting eases sensor installation
The novel mounting system used with E3FZ sensors completely eliminates the need for nuts and screws.
To optimise energy savings, the drives use a special control algorithm which, when operating in voltage/frequency mode, automatically adjusts the output voltage and, hence, power to ensure that the motor delivers the best possible efficiency, irrespective of whether it is fully or only partly loaded.
Drives rated 22kW and above are supplied complete with an integral reactor to optimise power factor, and minimise harmonic levels.
A similar reactor is available as an option on smaller units.

Versatile light curtains ease installation
Rapid alignment is ensured by an alignment aid that uses intuitive LED indication and instantly shows whether adjustment is correct or incorrect.
Custom flowmeters suit varied gases
Omron can provide mass flow sensors suitable to measure any flow rate from 1mm/s to 40m/s or 1litre/min to 50litres/min of most noncorrosive gasses.
For applications in sensitive areas, such as hospitals and offices, where quiet operation is a key requirement, Omron's 3G3PV features a unique low-carrier PWM control option.
This helps to reduce the noise from the motor, without adversely affecting the efficiency or performance of the installation.
The drives also incorporate a bidirectional speed search function which determines the speed of a motor that is coasting, and then takes over control smoothly to run at the set speed.
This feature is particularly useful when the installation is required to resume normal operation as quickly as possible after a short-term power interruption.
In addition to providing a wide range of user benefits, Omron 3G3PV inverter drives have been carefully designed to ensure easy installation, set-up and maintenance.
They feature plug-in terminals for ease of wiring, and offer support for the RS485/422 Modbus communication protocol out-of-the-box.
An optional board is available for DeviceNet support.
Further developments are planned in the area of fieldbus options.
A detachable operator terminal which, if required, can be remotely mounted, allows easy adjustment of major operating parameters, and provides effective monitoring of drive operation via a five-digit display and ten LED status indicators.
An LCD option is also available, which provides a plain text display.
Alternatively, Omron's SYSdrive Configurator software package, which runs under Windows on almost any PC, provides powerful and versatile tools for setting up and monitoring the new drives. Request a free brochure from Omron Electronics ...
