Omron Electronic Components has expanded its distribution network in the UK with the appointment of Anglia as a franchised distributor for its electromechanical and electronic components.

Commenting on the move, Lee Nye, Division Manager, UK, said, "In the light of our continuing strategy to increase our emphasis on distribution, we reached the point at which it would be timely to expand our network of distribution partners.

Anglia has convinced us that they will be able to develop additional distribution business opportunities for Omron, and on this basis we made the decision to add them to the network".

Steve Rawlins, Managing Director, Anglia, added, "Our appointment as a franchised distributor for Omron represents a very significant agreement.

Omron is widely regarded as a market leader in its field and they have a world-class product range.

We are confident that this, coupled with Anglia's design in capabilities and in depth knowledge of the UK electronics market place, will result in significant new business opportunities for both Omron and Anglia".

Omron's agreement with Anglia covers its complete portfolio of solid-state and electromechanical relays and its electronic and optical switches, as well as its range of connectors.

According to Anglia, the addition of Omron significantly extends the range of switching and interconnect solutions it can offer to its customers.
