Omron has introduced a new microswitch rated at 21A, making it ideal for use in water heater and shower applications.

The new D3V-21 switch is the latest addition to Omron's range of D3V microswitches, and features mounting pips moulded onto the switch body designed for attaching external lever actuators to the switch.

These pips accommodate the full range of standard levers offered by Omron, but can also accommodate custom levers designed to suit individual applications.

The D3V switch is available with a low 125gf operating force.

The switches are available in a three terminal changeover (C) device.

Long life and high reliability is assured with the contacts having a self-wiping action.

All versions of the D3V are designed to operate 10,000,000 times mechanically.

The contacts are also free of beryllium and so environmentally friendly.

Terminal options include solder and quick connect in the two main industry standard sizes, 250 and 187.

The switch conforms to EN61058-1, which is the standard for components incorporated in domestic appliances.
