Safety relays slim to fit

Big space savings, which translate directly into lower enclosure costs, are possible with the new G9SB range of slimline safety relays from Omron Electronics.

Big space savings, which translate directly into lower enclosure costs, are possible with the new G9SB range of slimline safety relays from Omron Electronics Though fully certified for use in the most demanding Category 4 control systems, these compact new relays are just 17.5mm wide in versions with two safety outputs, and only 22.5mm wide in three-output versions

All models of Omron G9SB relay are suitable for monitoring emergency-stop circuits, making them an ideal complement for emergency-stop pushbuttons, safety light curtains, safety sensors and safety door switches in the Omron range.

The units are designed for operation from 24V AC or DC supplies, and incorporate LED indicators which provide instant visual confirmation of operating status.

To ensure maximum versatility, the relays are offered in manual- and automatic-reset versions, with inverse or common mode inputs.

In addition, models with three safety outputs also provide a normally closed auxiliary output.

All outputs are in the form of contacts rated to switch 5A at 250V AC, allowing straightforward direct connection into virtually any type of control system.

Omron G9SB safety relays for Category 4 applications are complemented by the model G9SB-3010 safety relay with no input channels, for use in Category 3 direct breaking control systems.

This automatic-reset unit, which is suitable for use on 24V DC supplies only, provides three safety outputs in a 17.5mm wide package, making it the most compact three-output safety relay currently available.

All safety relays in Omron's new G9SB range conform fully with the requirements of EN60204 and EN954-1, and are additionally approved as meeting TUV, UL508 and CSA C22.2 No 14 standards. Request a free brochure from Omron Electronics ...
