Software simplifies drive setup

Setting up Omron Sysdrive inverter drives is now easier than ever, following the release of a new version of the company's versatile Sysdrive Configurator drive configuration software package.

Setting up Omron Sysdrive inverter drives is now easier than ever, following the release of a new version of the company's versatile Sysdrive Configurator drive configuration software package New features, all of which save time, and make the package more convenient to use, include automatic recognition of drive series and type, an oscilloscope function, and facilities for connecting a single PC running Configurator to multiple drives

The latest version of Sysdrive Configurator is also easier to keep up to date, thanks to additional file integration options.

This means that new data can easily be added to allow the package to be used, for example, with future additions to the Sysdrive range.

Like its predecessors, the new version of Sysdrive Configurator is designed to be intuitive in use, and to minimise the need for users to consult a manual.

During parameter selection, all parameters are fully described, and many, including those associated with PID loops and jump frequency operation, are set with the aid of graphical control diagrams.

Extensive help screens and tool tips are also provided.

The package offers facilities for uploading and downloading parameters, and it also incorporates a copy inverter wizard which allows the same set of parameters to be saved in multiple drives, yielding big time savings, particularly in large installations.

Parameter sets can be verified before use, and may also be printed for documentation and recording purposes.

In addition to aiding drive setup, Omron's Sysdrive Configurator also provides comprehensive facilities to assist with commissioning and fault-finding.

Drive inputs and outputs can be monitored in real time, while the new oscilloscope function allows detailed analysis of drive operation, without the need for additional test equipment.

For maximum convenience and versatility, the graphs produced via the oscilloscope function can be printed, or stored to disk for later playback with an adjustable time scale. Request a free brochure from Omron Electronics ...
