Omron's MY series continues to be the world's most popular general-purpose relays.
Most widely used are the two- and four-pole versions, with maximum contact ratings, for resistive loads, of 10 and 5A, respectively.
These diminutive relays measure just 23.5 x 28 x 36mm for two-pole versions and 21.5 x 28 x 36mm for four-pole types.
For high-density interfacing, such as PLC output load switching, and other applications where even smaller relays are needed, Omron offers the G2R range.
This features single- and double-pole relays, with contact ratings of 10 and 5A, respectively, in miniature slimline packages which are only 13mm wide.
Both MY and G2R relays can be supplied with coils to suit a wide range of standard voltages up to 240V AC and 110V DC, and DC versions are optionally available with an integral flywheel diode.
Coil-to-contact dielectric withstand voltage is 2kV or greater for all versions, providing the effective and reliable isolation needed for interfacing applications.
To complement its MY and G2R relays, Omron supplies an extensive range of relay bases.
These include types with screw terminals for DIN-rail and surface mounting, as well as versions for direct mounting on printed circuit boards.
The range of bases has also recently been extended to include types with screwless clamp terminals which offer big savings in wiring time, combined with enhanced connection reliability, making them ideal for transportation and other applications where vibration can be a problem.
