Available in single- and three-phase versions, the new G3PB series of solid-state relays (SSRs) from Omron Electronics combines low cost with compact construction, ease of use and durability.

These highly versatile switching devices are ideal for use in conjunction with Omron temperature controllers in electrical heating applications.

Supplied with or without heatsinks, the new SSRs are typically 20% smaller than other similarly rated products and, at just 25mm wide, the 15 and 25A single-phase models are among the slimmest currently available.

This is made possible by the manufacturing process, which welds the power components to the heatsink, allowing improved heat transfer, with the added benefit of a more robust construction.

Single-phase versions of the new SSRs, which incorporate zero-cross switching as standard, are suitable for switching supplies in the range 100 to 240V AC, and are available with ratings from 15 to 45A.

Three-phase units in the range are suitable for 180 to 440V systems, and can also be supplied with ratings up to 45A.

Three-phase units with only two switching elements are also available to provide more economical configuration for three-phase loads.

All G3PB SSRs are designed to operate with nominal control voltages from 12 to 24V DC, making them easy to interface directly with modern control systems of all types, and all provide complete electrical isolation between the control and output circuits.

Particularly for the convenience of users who manufacture equipment for export, worldwide approvals have been obtained for G3PB SSRs from Omron Electronics.

The units are CE marked, they fully meet the relevant requirements of EN60947-1, and they carry both UL and CSA approvals.
