Automation training at home and away

An Omron Electronics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 19, 2003

Omron Electronics now provides practical and up-to-the minute training courses on automation topics at a number of regional training centres around the UK.

Continually expanding and investing in its training programme, Omron Electronics is now able to supply its extensive range of practical and up-to-the minute training courses relating to automation topics at a number of regional training centres around the UK, including Glasgow and Belfast.

All courses have a high practical content, and are specifically designed to help those attending to get the best possible return on their investment in modern automation equipment.

In addition to its regular courses, Omron offers courses tailored to meet individual customers' exact requirements.

Omron's Training Manager, Maggie Rahmani, explains: "To ensure that these custom courses are effective and accurately targeted, a training manager visits the customer's premises before the course is developed, to inspect the type and range of equipment on which training is needed.

The training manager then tailors the course content to suit the customer's exact requirements".

Rahmani continues: "On-site courses offer particular benefits, as they reinforce team spirit, and they have been shown to pay for themselves very quickly, in terms of reduced downtime and increased productivity.

They also ensure, for example, that the amount of time that staff are away from their normal work is minimised, and they eliminate travel and accommodation costs for those attending the courses".

13 standard courses offered by Omron are available to suit all levels of ability, and cover topics which include programmable controllers, human-machine interface systems, networking, fieldbus, variable speed drives and motion control.

A new addition is the "Ensure safety" series, run in conjunction with Integrated Safety Solutions, which helps those who need to understand and address issues relating to safety in industrial installations.

In addition to its regular courses, Omron offers courses tailored to meet individual customers' exact requirements.

To ensure that these custom courses are effective and accurately targeted, a member of the Omron team typically visits the customer's premises before the course is developed, to inspect the type and range of equipment on which training is needed, and to agree the course content.

Further details of Omron training courses, including information about dates, venues and prices, are contained in the Omron Automation Training 2003 brochure.
