Guard-lock switches protect personnel
Two new ranges of guard-lock safety door switches provide a convenient and cost-effective solution to ensuring guards protecting potentially dangerous machinery are closed before the machinery starts.

Distribution boxes simplify field connections
Multiport distribution boxes simplify the applied wiring of sensor actuators, enabling multiple connections in an area with just one connection going back to the controller.
Snap mounting eases sensor installation
The novel mounting system used with E3FZ sensors completely eliminates the need for nuts and screws.
The switch contacts, which are typically arranged to enable the machinery protected by the guard to start, operate only if the key is correctly inserted into the switch body.
The use of a special key renders the operation of the switch virtually tamperproof.
While the machinery is in motion, the key is retained within the switch body, ensuring that the guard remains closed.
Key release can be initiated either mechanically, or electrically via a solenoid built into the switch body.
Type D4NL guard-lock safety door switches from Omron feature square-format bodies, while D4GL switches have slimline rectangular bodies, making them ideal for use where mounting space is restricted.
Switches in both ranges are available with up to five internal contacts for controlling safety functions, and the contacts are equally suitable to switch standard loads, such as relays, or low-current loads, such as PLC inputs.
To ensure maximum versatility and ease of installation, D4NL and D4GL switches offer a choice of four head mounting directions.
As an aid to monitoring operation, the units are also optionally available with an integral LED that clearly indicates the switch and solenoid status.
Omron guard-lock door safety switches have an IP67 ingress protection rating, making them suitable for use in even the most demanding industrial environments.
They also conform fully to the requirements of EN60947-5-1, as well as carrying UL and CSA approvals. Request a free brochure from Omron Electronics ...
