Vision sensor offers easy setup
The ZFX menu system guides users through the set up process in three simple steps
Touch-screen technology and an interactive menu system make it straightforward to set up the ZFX vision sensor from Omron.
The menu system guides users through the set up process in three simple steps - selecting the inspection tools, defining the inspection regions and finally setting the required inspection parameters simply by pressing the 'auto' button.
To confirm that the correct settings have been selected, the ZFX provides instant feedback, with live images and helpful system messages.
In most applications, the entire set up procedure can be completed in just a few minutes.
No external PC or other equipment is required for setting up, maintenance or operation of the ZFX, as all functions are accessed via the integral touch screen.
To ensure maximum flexibility, the ZFX allows multiple inspection tasks to be carried out on the same image.
Tools are also provided for image pre-processing, position compensation, calibration and data logging, allowing the system to handle complex inspection tasks with ease.
Omron ZFX vision sensors are available in single-camera versions that offer all essential functions for a wide range of applications and two-camera versions that have enhanced processing power and additional inspection tools.
Both versions support colour and monochrome cameras with integrated lighting and adjustable focus.
Standard C-mount cameras are available for total application coverage and flexibility.
For ease of integration with automation systems, ZFX vision sensors incorporate Ethernet, serial and USB interfaces.
These can be used for communication of result data, calculations and images, as well as the uploading and downloading of configuration information and settings.
Additionally, 20 digital I/O ports are provided for real-time control, such as handshaking and the generation of trigger signals.
