Multiport distribution boxes simplify the applied wiring of sensor actuators, enabling multiple connections in an area with just one connection going back to the controller.
Omron Electronic Components has a new series of IP67 (IEC60529) rated multiport distribution boxes that feature Smartclick circular industrial connectors with one-touch bayonet locking system that enables connection with just one-eighth of a turn.
The connectors are also compatible with M12 screw style connectors.

The XS5R a Y-joint plug/socket (two-connector version) is available in various length cables with either a connector or leads at the other end.
The XW3D-P45 is a four-connector distribution box and the XW3D-P85 is an eight-connector distribution box, both are available with 5m-long cables with leads at the other end.
Versions include three-wire NPN, two-wire and three-wire PNP.
Each has a beefy 4A per port current rating.
They carry a voltage range of 10 to 30V DC with maximum contact resistance of 40mohm and operate over a -25 to +70C temperature range.
Smartclick connectors improve the integrity of the circuit connections compared with traditional screw style connectors.
They feature an audible and tactile click indicating a secure lock.
The Smartclick lock features excellent shock/vibration resistance (tensile 100N/15s and torsion 1Nm/15s) making them less likely to become disconnected thus reducing costly equipment downtime.
Other end system assembly advantages include reduced assembly time (compared with screw styles) and less fatigue for assemblers.

MSRP for the XS5R-D426-C11-F, Y-joint plug/socket (two-connector version) with a 1m cable and connectors at both ends is $27.7581 in 100-unit quantities.
The XW3D-P455-G11 four-port three-wire NPN distribution box is $85.1718 in 100-unit quantities.
The XW3D-P853-G11 eight-port three-wire PNP distribution box is $128.8373 in 100-unit quantities.
