X-NC takes Open Mind to SE England

X-NC of Twickenham is to resell Open Mind's hyperForm computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software into SE England.

X-NC of Twickenham is to resell Open Mind's hyperForm computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software into SE England.

Considerable synergy exists between the two companies following X-NC's recent appointment as a distributor for Thinkdesign solid modelling computer-aided design (CAD) software, the kernel of which is the basis of Open Mind products.

To mark the new agreement, the first in a series of CAD/CAM seminars will be held on 17th April at Open Mind's headquarters.

Clifford Ashwin, Open Mind's UK Sales Manager, commented, "More and more we are dealing directly with customers and reducing our involvement with resellers owing to the higher level of knowledge needed for offering Open Mind CAM solutions, particularly with the advent of our latest 5-axis software.

However, it is still expedient for us to appoint selected specialists with the right level of expertise and X-NC has proven itself to have the ideal skills, not just in CAD but more importantly in the CAM market as well".

Said Richard Nolan, Managing Director, X-NC: "hyperForm sits neatly in our product portfolio for high end milling applications; in our view it offers greater productivity than similar software currently available".

Other CAM products offered by the company include X-Turn and X-Wire for turning and wire erosion, respectively.
