SSS Optical Technologies has enlisted the help of Optics for Hire in launching a novel line of gas sensors based on patent pending optoelectronic technology.

SSS Optical Technologies has enlisted the help of Optics for Hire in launching a novel line of gas sensors based on patent pending optoelectronic technology.

GOVINDRA stands for gas, odour, vapour identification, networking, detection, recording and annunciation.

The primary target of the new ammonia sensors is the poultry industry, where new EPA ammonia emission standards necessitate precise cost-efficient monitoring technologies.

GOVINDRA is ideally suited for that marketplace.

Other applications for a portable GOVINDRA-001X include use within a UAV for real-time mapping of a moving cloud of a hazardous air pollutant coming from an industrial spill.

The system has sensitivity of 0-1 ppm (for ammonia) and response time of 300ms.

GOVINDRA can be configured as a small (5 x 3 x 1in, including batteries) box with wireless connectivity.

"We are exited to be working with SSS", said Optics for Hire President John Ellis.

"They are leaders in optical chem/bio-sensors and light-driven actuators".

"Optics for Hire provided a functional electronics design and prototype of our system", said SSS Optical President Sergey Sarkisov.

"We were very pleased with their work and anticipate future successful collaborations".
