Control panels made for offshore oilfield
Six motor control panels for package units that will be supplied to Aramco for the Sufaniya offshore oilfield house the motor starters and control and monitor other on skid instruments.
Orange Instruments has completed an order for six motor control panels for package units that will be supplied to Aramco for the Sufaniya offshore oilfield.
The panels not only house the motor starters but also control and monitor other on skid instruments.
All the work was completed in accordance with the latest Aramco specifications and standards.
The panels and associated conduit all had to fit into a predetermined area.
This was a problem for the design team but by careful selection of components and interlinking control cabinets on each package a successful design and layout was achieved.
Over the past years, Orange has designed and manufactured similar electrical control equipment for equipment package units that are installed on oil installations worldwide.
The firm has been designing control instrumentation for bluechip companies within the process industries since 1975.
The work has also included the design and build of hazardous area systems for the worldwide oil and gas industry.
Other industries serviced include the chemical, food and beverage, paper and pharmaceutical markets.
Having acquired a new owner in 2002, the organisation offers customers a complete system for process control, which is electrically designed, assembled and tested within one purpose built facility.
Orange has also moved to premises with modern facilities combined with individual workshops for electrical and instrumentation assembly as well as testing.
Once completed, work can be hooked up and commissioned for on-site service by Orange personnel.
Orange is accredited to the quality standard ISO 9001:2000.
The company has for many years been responsible for producing standard digital and analogue instruments, including custom built products, more recently complemented by pump and valve servo positioners.
As well as a primary supplier for engineering services, procurement, assembly and functional testing, the firm also operates as subcontract manufacturers for complete packaged systems for batch and continuous processing operations.
The integration of various electronic elements into complete electrical process packages has become a major activity for the company, which has worked on many capital projects on a contractor and subcontractor basis.
It also has in-house programming expertise with logic controllers from suppliers including Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens and Omron.
