Module simplifies TIG welding of tubes

An Orbimatic product story

Orbimatic GmbH is introducing a major new option for its Orbimat 250C orbital welding power supply, namely an arc voltage control module.

Orbimatic GmbH is introducing a major new option for its Orbimat 250C orbital welding power supply.

This unit can now be supplied with an arc voltage control module which allows the unit to be used with the new P16M tube to tube sheet weld head.

It is widely know that TIG welding is a constant current process and as the arc gap increases so does the arc voltage.

This is the very principle the arc voltage module uses to control the height of the arc gap.

The arc voltage control module monitors the arc voltage and then controls a precision slide which controls the height of the welding torch to give a consistent arc gap all around the circumference of the tube.
